Arcturus Black is drafting legislation that will prevent Muggleborns and halfbloods who don't "meet acceptable standards of blood purity" from sharing accommodation with fullbloods and Purebloods. There's nothing in there specifically about Hogwarts, but if the law passes then it'll obviously apply to schools as well, and Hogwarts will have to decide between flouting the law one way or another, or not allowing students of certain blood status.

Winter is so much more bearable when one thinks of the life that is to come. It may seem like years are passing, as though the season takes up a decade, but there's always signs of life if you know where to look. Spring is never too far away to hope for.

All right, I'm warding to all of you because you were the ones in Elijah's ward a little while ago. If there's anyone else who needs to know, I trust you'll pass the information along.
Jonathan Nott (the younger Nott, nephew to the one who is a higher-up in the Walpurgis Party) is drafting legislation that will require Muggleborns and halfbloods to be accompanied by a chaperone when spending more than fifteen minutes with a fullblood or Pureblood of the opposite gender who is not related to them by blood. It isn't ready to go before the Wizengamot yet, and he's hoping that if ratified, it will be the making of his political career.
Please leave his wife and daughter out of any action you might take. Iseult doesn't have much to do with Jonathan's political ambitions except as a sounding-board, and Melisande is too young. I'll keep an eye on Iseult to see if she becomes a risk, but as things stand, I don't believe she's a threat.

Elijah was attacked outside our home tonight, by a Death Eater. He's all right - he was knocked out, but I don't think he's concussed - and we're relocating to a place nobody else knows about to guard against this happening again, but he wanted you to know. He would like you to tell the rest of your organisation. I'll give him back his journal tomorrow but right now he needs to sleep.

I'm just stressed, that's all. If it was going to happen, it would have happened before now. Besides, I can't. I've accepted that. This is just stress, like the insomnia was.
The journals are very quiet these days. For my part, I'm enjoying summer, if perhaps a little too much; I've got far more tanned than I usually do, and I think I may have sunburned my nose riding today.

I know we both have doubts about the wisdom of it, but this legislation - I don't want to wait until it's illegal for me to love you. I honestly believe that we can effect change, but it's going to take time, and I'm selfish enough to want to not have to hide.
Bellatrix thinks I deserve to be with someone I love. She thinks I "deserve better" than a fullblood, but she wouldn't begrudge me happiness. I can talk Mother and Father around, and there are all sorts of logical, stupid reasons why a pureblood is out of my league now.
I love you. You make me feel things I thought I'd never feel again, and you give me hope that there is a way through all of this. You make it so that I'm not alone anymore. And I want to do the same for you. I don't want you to have to wake up alone anymore, or come home to an empty house.
Marry me.

I took a walk into the village today. The children were out playing very early, and it was a lovely sight. I am glad that even in such times as these, there are some places where parents may still feel safe allowing their children out.

The weather was absolutely lovely today. I took a walk into the village proper, and it was teeming with others out to do the same thing, now that winter is well and truly gone.

I wish I hadn't gone out today. Oh, Bella has a point, I need the fresh air and the exercise, but everything I saw today just reminded me of what I can no longer hope to have. There was a small group at the café, three women and a man, and their children. None of the children were older than four or five, and the youngest was a mere baby, a tiny blonde thing, and watching them hurt.
I miss him. I miss the way we would talk about books or plays, and the way he touched my hair every time he walked past me. I miss his voice in the mornings. Most of all, I think, I miss the hope that one day I'd give him what he wanted. A baby, a son. One day.
Bella would say there's no point in dwelling on the past. No man that Father and Mother would approve of would want to marry a widow, and I can hardly take Meda's lead, can I? Or co Pureblood men want young wives who can bear children, who are unspoiled; two of three counts against me, and the third is a distinct possibility. Why else would I have failed to give Lucius the child we both wanted?
